Challenge Yourself

In addition to becoming the best version of ourselves there should be times to seek challenges. If we are not challenged then we wouldn't put in any effort to change. Getting uncomfortable is necessary in life. Life will hand everyone numerous trials along the way and we are designed to overcome those challenges. The human body greatest ability is adaptability. We are meant to be in some sort of stressor and adapt to it. Challenges challenge us to change and adapt. Challenges help ups develop perseverance and preparation for the battles ahead of us. Whatever challenge or trial you will face. Just know you are built to overcome them.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. James 1:2
Prepare your shields, and advance into battle! Jeremiah 46:3

This year sign up for something that will make you rely on God for. Several years ago I ran a marathon. I could of signed up for a half, but I could easily rely on my own strength and endurace to complete it. God had to make up a whole other 13.1 miles for me.

What can you sign up for? The key is we will be comforted in challenging situations. Rely on the Holy Spirit to help you. This year I signed up for a scaled crossfit competition, so I can experience that environment and be pushed. Now a challenge you sign up for does not have to be physical. You can sign up for a mental and spiritual challenge as well:

Mentally- can be reading certain amount of books in a month or sharpening another habit such as cooking or musical instrument.

Spiritually- make the time to read the Word and pray for 5-15 min or more.

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT

What can you sign up for? What are you willing to endure? Take the time and think about challenges you can face that you know will grow you.

That wraps it up on becoming the best version of yourself in 2020. Take the time to know God himself and Christ himself. Then learn to forgive, love, humble, deny, dress, examine, and surround yourself daily. Make sure to occasionally challenge yourself, because growth is always one step outside of our comfort zone. Be encouraged though once we step out into the uncomfortable we are immediately comforted by the Holy Spirit.

May 2020 be the year you become the best version of yourself!

Be strong and courageous!
