Prior to becoming the best version of yourself. We need to realize who God truly is. People typically describe God from what they hear from others, but not from God himself. I believe there are many misconceptions about God that drives people away. One example is how people talk about God, but then live their lives that doesn't show Him.
My aim and hope is to get you to experience God. Anyone can talk about God. Experiencing God is different similar to viewing an IMAX movie. All you want to do is tell others and say, "you have to go experience it for yourself." Once you learn to understand that God is around and cares about you. Then you can appreciate who He is and desire to experience Him. How can you experience God? Just walk outside and look the skies. Look to all creation and appreciate the life that surrounds you. Listen to the songs of birds, the laughter of children, and feel the rays of the sun. Go feel the power of the winds and the waves. Look the the heights that mountains reach and the depths the oceans go.
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20 NLT
Now that we can recognize through personal experience that God is around us. Then we can realize who God truly is. Before we go through the specific steps we need to take to be the best we can be. First, we need to know who the best of all is, God. He is our Creator and He takes everything into his own hands. He puts His actions where His word are. His main goal is to restore himself with you. He takes everything personal and with great intention. God goes personally out of His way for you. He is with you even if you don’t realize it. God is a gentleman and never forces Himself upon anyone. You are never alone with knowing God surrounds and personally goes ahead of you. I never want to steer people improperly so I will do my best to describe God and His character below:
God is faithful, loving, and true. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. As His thoughts are higher than ours, so are His ways are higher than our ways. God created everything, if you believe it or not, you see. The skies declare His craftsmanship and the stars show his majesty. God is everlasting and has been here since the beginning of time. He is full of unfailing love and it endures forever. He is the ultimate source of strength and shield for protection. His power is mighty from creation of life to resurrection of life. He can create anything out of nothing. He expels darkness and there is no darkness in Him. He is a God that is even beyond time. His is a righteous ruler and the only true ‘good’ being in this universe. God never lies and never tempts anyone. If you want to read more about God read in Genesis 1-2, Job 38-42, Psalm 103, 104, 118, & 121, and Isaiah 40:12-31.
He is Lord of all creation and is the designer of our transformation. When we finally make the decision to accept God into our lives, we must let God transform us. God will teach us in His word what steps we should take, but first we must learn to know him truly. His very character is good, faithful, and true. He knows all the stars by name. He knows every hair on your head. His love for you cannot be measured. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. His thoughts are so far greater than our own. If we knew most of them, it would open our heart and eyes to his wonderful plans for us. He has plans for you that will be revealed to you more clearly when you realize and recognize God. As you learn to know that God takes things personal. Then you can look for His influence in your personal lives.
Dedicate your life to His will in 2020. Consult Him in your decision making daily. Ask yourself, do you know God for who He truly is? God can help you be the best version of yourself once you look to who He is. His very character and love can penetrate our heart and influence our behavior to be the best we can be.
Learn to know God himself by establishing a relationship with him or add depth to that relationship. He has taken the step to reconcile you. Next, we will discuss how we can take that actual step to reconcile with God. By seeking to be in a relationship with Him and learn to be the best version of ourselves. Experience God for yourself by seeking Him and see if that re-frames your mind on who He is. Read the reflection time and bible verses below, but make sure to take it slow.
Reflection Time:
-Have you truly experienced God?
-Do you recognize God in your life?
-Take time to get outside and surround yourself in His glory.
-No matter what people say, God loves you and look to Him to see who God truly is.
Take time to read these Bible Verses below:
“We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 5:2-5 NLT
“But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another.” 1 Thessalonians 4:9 NLT
“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” James 1:17 NLT
“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14 NLT
“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep." Ezekiel 34:11 NLT
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
“The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.” Psalms 121:5 NLT
“All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).” Isaiah 7:14 NLT
“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.” Revelation 21:3 NLT
